REQUIEM AETERNAM Completes Work On 'Destiny-Man'

Melodic black metallers REQUIEM AETERNAM — originally from Uruguay but most recently based in Tampa Bay, Florida — have completed work on their third album, "Destiny-Man". The group is "at this moment negotiating how and when [the CD] is going to be released," according to a posting on the band's web site.

"Destiny-Man" was mastered in March at Morrisound Recording in Tampa. The album is set to feature "ten tracks — 50 minutes of anguish," according to the band.

Commented guitarist/vocalist Jose Romero Sum: "This will be our most ambitious work to date. I have written more music for this recording than for both former albums put together. This will be our uppermost attempt to consolidate a new style within metal music: philosophical metal."

The ten tracks on "Destiny-Man" are inspired — not based — on ten classical composers, including Takemitsu, Beethoven, Mozart, Piazzolla, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Gershwin, Chopin, Paganini and Villa-Lobos.

REQUIEM AETERNAM's last album, "Philosopher", was released in North America in December 2004 via ICorp. "Philosopher" was recorded at Big Blue Meenie studios and features a guest appearance by drummer Alex Hernández (IMMOLATION).
